Seguint l’estela dels grans crooners de la història, des de’n
Frank Sinatra fins l’actualitat, i amb un repertori que abasta
tant les seves pròpies composicions com els standars més sol·licitats,
Harry Connick Jr. debuta al Festival Castell de Peralada després
d’una trajectòria que l’ha portat a gravar més de 30 discos i de
participar, com a actor i cantant, en una vintena de pel·lícules. La
seva veu inigualable, el seu talent pianístic i aquell swing que el
caracteritza allà on va, promet, la nit del 10 d’agost i en la seva
única actuació a Espanya, una vetllada inoblidable al so de melo-
dies d’avui i de sempre.
In the footsteps of the great singers of the history of music, from
Frank Sinatra to the present, with a repertoire that includes own
compositions and hot classics, Harry Connick Jr. promises an exciting
festival debut in Peralada. During his long career he released more
than 30 albums, featured as actor and singer in twenty movies, and
composed unforgettable movie melodies – he got his first Grammy for
the collaboration in the soundtrack of the famous romantic comedy
“Harry and Sally”. Many of his songs combine different styles like
pop, jazz, blues and funk. On 9 August he is going to inspire the au-
dience with his unique voice, his swing, and piano talent.
Auf den Spuren der großen Akteure der Musikgeschichte, von
Frank Sinatra bis zur Gegenwart - mit einem Repertoire, das
sowohl eigene Kompositionen umfasst als auch heiße Klassiker ein-
bindet - Harry Connick Jr. verspricht uns auf alle Fälle ein mitreißendes
Festival-Debüt in Peralada. In seiner langen Karriere veröffentlichte er
mehr als 30 Alben, spielte erfolgreiche Filmrollen und komponierte
unvergessliche Filmmelodien. Seinen ersten Grammy bekam er für
die Arbeit am Soundtrack einer der weltweit erfolgreichsten Liebes-
komödien „Harry and Sally“. Viele seiner Songs bieten einen Mix

de 40 anys, la gran Dionne Warwick -tia de la recentment
desapareguda Whitney Houston- ve posant música a la banda
sonora de diverses generacions arreu del món. Guanyadora d’un
munt de premis Grammy, amb el seu so tan particular -barreja de
pop, R & B i jazz, però en el qual preval la seva veu màgica, única
i inigualable- Dionne aconseguí la fama mundial ja als anys 60 del
segle passat amb temes ara convertits en clàssics com “I ‘ll never
fall in love again”, “I say a little Prayer” o “Do you know the way to
San Jose”, de Burt Bacharach, reinventant-se més tard amb altres
com “ Heartbreaker” (amb els Bee Gees) i “I’ll never love this way
again” o lluitant contra la SIDA amb “That’s what Friends are for”.
Amb un show potent i captivador, aquesta llegenda viva de la mú-
sica afroamericana promet una nit d’emocions.
She’s a legend, a pioneer, a born fighter. For more than 40
years Dionne Warwick, aunt of the recently gone Whitney
Houston, has inspired several generations with her unique style and
magic voice. She mixes pop, R&B and jazz, has been awarded nu-
merous Grammys and a star on the Walk of Fame, and now comes
to Peralada to perform some of her greatest hits: classics from the
60s like “I’ll never fall in love again” or “I say a little Prayer”, as well
as later songs like “Heart Breaker”, “I’ll never love this way again”
or “That’s what Friends are for”.
Sie gilt laut dem Magazin Rolling Stone als die Pionier-Chan-
teuse des schwarzen Middle-of-the-Road Pop und wurde be-
sonders als Muse und Interpretin der Kompositionen von Burt Ba-
charach und Hal David berühmt. Sie ist die Schwester von Dee Dee
Warwick, die Nichte von Cissy Houston und Cousine von Whitney
Houston. Dionne Warwick ist die einzige noch lebende Soul Legen-
de, Grammy Award Winner und hat einen Stern am Walk of Fame.
In Peralada wird sie ihre besten Hits präsentieren. Darunter “I’ll never
fall in love again”, “Heartbreaker”, “I’ll never love this way again”,
“That’s what Friends are for” und “Say a little prayer”.
