Born in 1935 in Barcelona, this musician
and painter started off in Tudela at the Aca-
demy of Fine Arts… In 1969, Luis Navarro showed
his work to Pablo Picasso where they regularly met
up at the “Auberge La Musarde” in Mougins. The
master declared: “You have found the most diffi-
cult thing for a painter to find: a recognizable style
without seeing your signature…With painting like
yours, you can go everywhere”. Some years later,
he won the Albrecht Dürer Prize, obtained gold
medals of the Grand Prize of Goya and won the
Rubens Grand Prize… “Do you want to know what
strikes me in the work of Luis Navarro? The obvious
fact that surrealism is not dead!”, explains Johan
D’hont CEO from the ImmoCenter Group. . Luis
Navarro, painter, musician and poet… through his
art shows us an infinite imagination! “IMAGINA-
TION! For me, it is the vital element. If there is no
imagination, there is no creator, and if there is no
creator, there is no painter”.
Né en 1935 à Barcelone, musicien et
peintre il débute à Tudela, à l’Académie
des Beaux-Arts. En 1969, Luis Navarro présente
son travail à Pablo Picasso qu’il rencontre régu-
lièrement à l’auberge La Musarde. Le maître lui
déclare «tu as trouvé le plus difficile pour un peintre
: un style reconnaissable, sans même qu’on lise ta
signature... Avec une peinture comme la tienne, tu
peux aller partout».
Quelques années plus tard, il devient Lauréat du
Prix Albrecht Dürer, obtient les médailles d’or du
Grand Prix Goya et du Grand Prix Rubens. «Savez-
vous ce qui me frappe dans l’oeuvre de Luis Na-
varro ? L’évidence que le surréalisme n’est pas mort
!» explique Johan D’hont CEO de ImmoCenter .

«L’imaginaire ! Pour moi, c’est le facteur primordial.
S’il n’y a pas d’imaginaire, il n’y a pas de créateur,
et s’il n’y a pas de créateur, il n’y a pas de peintre!»
