This year, the well known fair for
second hand boats in Empuriabrava
is going to take place for the 24th time. In
1982, a number of merchants that had
specialised on boats met and decided to
present their offering on a fair. It took an-
other eight years however, until the Cegra
Internacional SL’s operator took heart and
henceforth helped organising the fair, to-
gether with all other merchants of impor-
tance. The fair is traditionally taking place
around Easter time and becoming increas-
ingly successful.
There have been other borough, trying to
copy the concept of Empuriabrava, but
none of them has been able to hold a
candle to Empuriabrava so far. Most of
the merchants and dockyards are in the
Empuriabrava region anyway and thus are
likely to participate in Empuriabrava’s fair.
The clients usually buy about a quarter of
all the fine boats displayed in Empuriabra-
va. Among those boats, there are rubber
dinghies, jetskis, kayaks, small motorised
boats, sailing boats and yachts of up 20
metres and more.
The 24th second hand boat fair starts at
March 31th and will close April 8rd. It is
located, as usual, around the harbour of

Le salon réservé aux bateaux d’oc-
casion autour du yachtclub d’Empu-
riabrava se renouvelle déjà pour la ving-
tième fois 24 année. C’est en 1982 que
plusieurs marchands s’étaient réunis pour
la première fois dans le cadre d’un salon,
afin d’y présenter leurs bateaux de deu-
xième main. Cependant il a fallu huit ans,
avant que le propriétaire du yachtclub de
la plus grande marina d’Europe, le Cegra
Internacional SL, se décide d’organiser ce
salon tous les ans avec tous marchands
importants. Depuis il a lieu une fois par an
à Pâques et il a de plus en plus de succès.
Beaucoup d’autres communes essayent
de copier le concept, mais jusqu’à pré-
sent aucune ville n’arrive à la cheville
d’Empuriabrava dans ce domaine. Cela
s’explique d’une part par le grand nombre
de concessionnaires et de chantiers navals
qui sont implantés dans la région et qui
participent massivement à cet événement,
et puis il y a bien sûr les innombrables
clients potentiels qui achètent chaque an-
née environ un quart des bateaux expo-
sés. On y trouve à peu près tout ce que l’on
peut rencontrer sur l’eau : du bateau gon-
flable, en passant par le jet-ski, le kayak
et les petits bateau à moteur pour le week-
end, jusqu’aux gros voiliers et yachts à
moteur de 20 mètres et plus.
Le 24ème salon nautique de bateaux
d’occasion débute le 31 mars et se dé-
roule comme d’habitude autour du port
