has a price: rooms from 500 euros. The Wine Tour is included for guests. Since we haven’t won the lottery yet, we simply inebriate our senses with the bizarre sculpture in the vineyard. Our eyes wander over silver and delicate purple waves of flowing metal, shaped into a roof like a looped belt. This unique architectural object is visibly embedded in the landscape of La Rioja wine region and contrasts perfectly with the historical architec- ture of the small Riojan town of Elciego.
In colour and shape, the building reminds us a little of noble-smelling red wines swirling in a glass; of cool white wines sparkling in the light; or of sparkling rosé wines reflecting in the edge of a crystal glass.
Before we send our imagination on a journey, we head off to the bodega. As a non-hotel guest, you can book tickets for the visit in advance on the website www.marquesderiscal.com. The 16-euro entrance fee includes a small wine tasting for two wines. The tour through the bodega takes about one a half hour. It’s worth it! Just because of the photos of ancient majestic wine barrels with Instagram-like guarantee.
After the tour through cellar and factory we discover a classic car in front of the O.-Gehry building. We would like to continue our trip to Bilbao, about 130 km away, to the next creation of Frank O. Gerry in it. A visit to the world-famous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has long attracted us. On we go! Unfortunately, we only count on our own old-timer, a 20 years old Mercedes with 500.000 kilometres on the speedometer. See you in the art temple in the special exhibition of Jenny Holzer: Thing Indescribable!

On l’emprunterait volontiers afin de parcourir les 130 km jusqu’à Bilbao, pour y découvrir une autre facette de ce célèbre architecte. Cela fait très longtemps que nous avons envie de nous rendre au grand musée Guggenheim à Bilbao – un temple de l’art. C’est parti – hélas juste avec notre oldtimer personnel, une Mercedes de 20 ans, avec 500.000 km au compteur. Nous allons voir l’exposition de Jenny Holzer: Thing Indescribable !

Una visita al mundialmente famoso Museo Guggenheim Bilbao nos ha llamado la atención desde hace mucho tiempo. ¡Vamos, pues! - desafortunadamente sólo contamos con nuestro propio clásico, un Mercedes de 20 años con 500 000 kilómetros recorridos. Nos ve- mos en el templo del arte, en la exposición especial de Jenny Holzer: Thing Indescribable!
