Costa Brava Xtrem Running is intended to offer each participant an unrepeatable experience. It invites them to participate in an exciting sport combined with a spirit of improvement and sacrifce which, for several days, will allow them to feel totally free. The organisers were motivated above all by the idea that these days should be something more than a race, becoming an unforgettable memory shared with friends and family in the special surroundings of the Costa Brava.

The race will take place on 13, 14 and and 15 May, in the middle of spring, so com-petitors can experience and feel the warm atmosphere enjoyed on the Costa Brava at this time of year. The race departs from Sa Palomera Rock on the Seaside Promenade (Passeig Marítim) in Blanes on the 13 of May at 3:00pm.

The CBXR will be held in 2011 as a single modality in stages: the Xtrem (25 km-55 km-55 km), with some 5,500 metres of positive altitude difference; there is also the frst stage, Selva Marítima, which is 25 kilometres long and can be run as an event in itself. One major novelty is that the race will pass the Botanical Gardens at Cap Roig, in Pala-frugell. Moreover, the route will be planned in order to avoid tarred roads and instead take the coastal paths. This means we will go via Cap de Begur to Gola del Ter, facing the Medes Islands.

La Costa Brava Xtrem Running veut offrir à chacun de ses participants un vécu unique. Elle les invite à pratiquer un sport passionnant exercé dans un esprit de dépassement et de sacrifce et qui, pendant quelques jours, doit leur permettre de se sentir totalement libres. Plutôt qu’une course, les organisateurs ont surtout cherché à faire de ces journées un souvenir inoubliable et partagé avec amis et famille, dans ce cadre si particulier qu’est la Costa Brava. La course aura lieu les 13, 14 et 15 Mai 2011, en plein printemps pour que les participants puissent vivre et respirer la chaude ambiance de la Costa Brava à cette époque de l’année.Le départ aura lieu de la Roca de Sa Palomera sur le Passeig Marítim de Blanes le 13 Mai 15 h. En 2011, la CBXR se dispute en une seule modalité, par étapes : la Xtrem (25 km-55 km-55 km), avec 5 500 m de dénivelé positif ; sans oublier la première étape, SelvaMarítima, avec 25 km. Importante nouveauté : elle passera par le Jardin Botanique de Cap Roig, à Palafrugell. De plus, l’itinéraire a été modifé afn d’éviter le bitume, au proft des chemins de ronde de la côte. Pour cette raison, le parcours passera par le Cap de Begur, pour fnir à l’embouchure du Ter (Gola del Ter), devant les Îles Mèdes.
