Der Vorteil: Im Winter gibt es keine langen Warteschlangen vor Museen und Sehenswürdigkeiten, auch die berühmten Plätze und Cafés sind nicht überfüllt, nicht einmal am Wochenende. Wenn sich nach dem Sightseeing schon früh die Dämmerung übers Land hängt, dann gehen in den Städten die Lichter an und um Weihnachten blinkt und glitzert es wundervoll in allen Gassen und auf Plätzen. Spätestens dann trifft man sich auf einen Café unterm Heizpilz im Freien oder auf ein schnelles Cerveca im Ste- hen, ehe man sich noch kurz ins abendliche Shopping-Getümmel wirft.
1. Barcelona.
Die katalanische Metropole lockt nicht nur mit viel Kultur und exorbitanten Shoppingtempeln, sondern auch mit ihrer Lage direkt am Meer.
2. Tarragona
Geschichte hautnah: einst eine Art kleines Rom auf iberischem Boden heute die Balance von Vergangenheit und Zukunft mit freiem Blick aufs Mittelmeer.
3. Girona
Zwischen Bergen und Meer - hier gehen die Uhren im Winter etwas langsamer. Girona lockt mit vielen gemütlichen kleinen Restaurants, Tapa- Bars und Cafés. Weitere Highlights: Die alten Befestigungsanlagen der Stadt, das historische Judenviertel und die gotische Kathedrale mit dem 23 m breiten Kirchenschiff.
