Der erste Ort, an dem sie anlandeten, wurde von ihnen Paliapolis genannt, damals noch eine kleine Insel – heute mit dem Festland verbunden und Sant Martí d’Empúries benannt. Später erlagen auch die Römer dem magischen Zauber des Ortes.
