try’s oldest processions, the Dance of Death, rst documented in 1666. Every year, in the ickering light of torches, this bizarre formation walks through the streets of Verges, around midnight. Five skeletons are dancing to the rhythm of the kettledrum. People seem very interested. Afterwards, there is a big party. All night long the bars and pubs are overcrowded. Jeudi saint. Là, on se réunit pour une de processions les plus anciennes du pays - la danse macabre de Verges. Témoignée la première fois en 1666. À la lumière mouvante des torches cette spectacularisation bizarre nocturne marche par le petit endroit médiéval Verges chaque année. Cinq squelettes dansantes se bougent au rythme de la timbale. L’intérêt de l’audience est énorme. Ensuite on fête. Les bistros et les bars dans le petit endroit sont bondés toute la nuit.
En Espagne le rituel des pénitents fait parties des fêtes de Pâques comme l’amen fait partie de l’Église. Damnation éternelle? Expiation sans mots? Faire pénitence avec des images puissants? Spectacularisation tradition- nelle ou réalité d’aujourd’hui?
