La plus grande rétrospective de l’œuvre picturale de El Bosco jamais orga- nisée. C’est la nouvelle proposition passionnante du Musée national du Prado à Madrid, à l’occasion du 500e anniversaire de la mort du peintre. Une de ces expositions à ne rater sous aucun prétexte.
Rafael Alberti dit de lui qu’il était « le plus grand créateur de songes, de cauchemars oniriques, capables de marquer notre souvenir à jamais ». Ce voyage dans les songes vous est offert si vous visitez cette exposition qui contiendra les principaux triptyques créés parEl Bosco comme Le jardin des délices ou le Triptyque de la Tentation de saint Antoine, prêt excep- tionnel du Musée de l’art ancien de Lisbonne.
L’exposition est divisée en cinq sessions thématiques auxquelles vient s’ajou- ter une sixième session consacrée à ses dessins. En introduction, le visiteur pourra situer le peintre et son œuvre dans sa ville, avec d’autres artistes qui y travaillèrent à la même époque, comme Alart du Hameel ou Adriaen van Wessel. Vous pourrez par ailleurs véri er comment ce peintre a in uencé d’autres artistes et en quoi consistait le goût El Bosco.
Des peintures, mais aussi d’autres pièces comme des miniatures, des des- sins, des sculptures ou des gravures vous aideront à pénétrer certains des sujets qu’il a traités, comme l’enfer et les péchés.
El Bosco est l’un des grands noms de cette saison. Une visite largement recommandée.

The largest retrospective of Hieronymus Bosch paintings ever compiled. The new and exciting event is being held at the Prado Museum in Madrid in tribute to the 500th anniversary of the painter’s death. A not-to-be- missed exhibition.
Rafael Alberti said that he was “the greatest creator of dreams, of dreamlike nightmares, able to be burned into our memories forever.” You can expe- rience this journey through dreams by visiting the exhibition boasting the main triptychs created by Hieronymus Bosch including The Garden of Earthly Delights and the Triptych of the Temptation of St. Anthony, on outs- tanding loan from the National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon.
The exhibition is divided into ve thematic sections, with a sixth section dedicated to drawings. As an introduction, you will be able to contex- tualise the painter and his work in his city, along with other artists working there at the same time, such as Alart du Hameel and Adriaen van Wessel. You will also be able to see how the painter in uenced other artists and what it meant to have a taste for “the Boschian.”
Paintings, along with other pieces like miniatures, drawings, etchings and engravings, will help introduce you to some of the themes he worked with, such as hell and sin.
The name Hieronymus Bosch will be ringing out this season. Highly recommended.
