Im Naturpark Aiguamolls wechseln sich charakteristisch Dünen, über- schwemmte Wiesen ächen, Brackwasser-Lagunen (Gemisch aus Süßwas- ser und Salzwasser) und Süßwasserseen ab. Katalanisch: «Aiguamolls» - Deutsch: «Seichtes Wasser» – spanisch: «Marismas» sind Bezeichnungen für ein Feuchtgebiet an der Küste, entstanden aus dem Zusammenspiel von Flussmündung und Meer.
Start für unsere Tour ist der Parkplatz am Infobüro des Naturparks. Von hier aus kann man den Vogelpark – der einen Teil des gesamten Naturs- chutzgebiets ausmacht - zu Fuß erkunden.

Aiguamoll’s natural park is characterized by an astonishing interplay of dunes, drowned meadows, brackish lagoons (special habitats due to their uctuations in salinity) and lakes. The Catalan word aiguamolls means calm, shallow water in English. In Spanish, it is called marismas and describes a coastal wetland, which has been formed by the inte- raction of both the estuary and the sea.
Our journey begins at the tourist information’s parking lot. Starting from here it is also possible to explore the birds’ reservoir afoot. It is worth the effort: the birds’ reservoir forms a part of the wildlife sanctuary.
