Montgrí está situada a piede del macizo, a la orilla del río Ter. En un paseo por sus callejas
antiguas, se pueden descubrir magníficos palacios y casas urbanas. El 1273, el pueblo fue
declarado ciudad real. El casco antiguo data de la Edad Media, antiguamente rodeado
por una muralla, partes de la cual se pueden ver hasta hoy en día.
Entre las joyas arquitectónicas de Torroella de Montgrí figuran la iglesia gótica de Sant
Genís, Can Quintana, en el cual se encuentra el Museo de la Mediterránia, y la Torre de
les Bruixes de los siglos XV y XVI, además de la Puerta de Santa Caterina del siglo XIV.
También vale la pena visitar la capilla románica de Sant Antoni en la bonita Plaza Mayor.
En el Paseo de l‘Església está situado el palacio El Mirador, que data de los siglos IX a XIV

Toroella de Montgrí has some architectural treats you do not want to miss. There is the gothic
parish church named Sant Genís, the Can Quintana with the associated Center for Medieval
Culture and the Les Bruixes tower which dates back to the 15th or 16th century. Other points
of interest are the city’s gate, named after Santa Caterina and built in the 14th century and
the Roman Sant Antoni Chapel on the arcade-fringed Placa Major. The El Mirador palace
